This has lawsuit written all over it

Crazy story out of Massachusetts, as 5,000 Happy Meals were distributed with colored condoms instead of a plastic toy from the movie The Last Airbender.  The condoms were intended for the Provincetown, Mass. school system, which recently established a policy making them available for students of all ages; however, they were delivered to McDonald’s distribution center in Barnstable, Mass. in error.

“The packages were so bright and colorful that they were misled by small toys for Happy Meals, but unfortunately most of the workers who do not read English package, and thought ‘Ribbed Latex’ was a character in the movie,” said Robin Anderson, vice president of public relations for the chain, as published by El Universal of Mexico.

The mistake led to an incident in a Brewster, Mass., McDonald’s, where more than a dozen 8-year-olds attending a birthday party all opened their condoms at once, and immediately blew them into balloons and started batting them around the restaurant.

The McDonald’s incident also caused problems in Provincetown, where the schools accidentally received the restaurant’s shipments of Last Airbender toys, and several were released to students who went into their school’s nurse’s office seeking condoms.  LOL.

Another newspaper fail

The picture below is sad on three levels for me:

  1. Is “Farmville” on Facebook (and other similar games) serious enough that you need to report a loss of “work” to the authorities?  It can’t be that serious.
  2. Did he really think that messing with his Farmville game was a criminal penalty?  Is this guy really that dumb?
  3. Is this really what’s newsworthy these days?  And they wonder why nobody buys the paper anymore….

Funny BP Cartoon

This is a funny (and sad) Mario Bros. depiction of what’s going on in the gulf…

& Elena.

As expected by most, Elena Kagan will be Obama’s nomination to the Supreme Court.  She should be swiftly confirmed and we can print the updated Supremes shirt.  We like the pick because Ruth & Sonia were getting a little lonely on the bench.  “Elena” not only looks good on the t-shirt, she looks good in the t-shirt!  If you have a strong color preference, let us know in the comments!

pro bono shirts (finally)

The pro bono shirts are finally here and will ship on Monday! Thank you for helping to sell this baby out! And sorry for the tardiness, I’ll try to make it up to ya. Here’s a sneak peak from my camera phone:

Taxpayer win!!!!!

CNN Money reports that taxpayers will make $2.4 billion from the sale 1.5 billion Citibank shares, based on where Citi stock has been trading recently.  Selling the stock at Friday’s closing price of $4.86 would lead to a profit of approximately $2.4 billion. The government converted its preferred-share stake into common stock when Citi shares were hovering at $3.25.

Can I get a dividend payout?  A few bucks would be nice right now!
